Hello! I hope that ya’ll had a great holiday weekend! I had a great time relaxing and of course sewing. I am currently challenging myself with something that I have never sewn before (I hope that I will be able to share it…if it turns out!) As I think about my sewing this year, I feel the need to explain my personal style. To start, Summer is NOT my favorite sewing season. It is too hot and the weather (in my opinion) is not conducive for dressing up and wearing cute shoes. I love to dress up. I love to sew “dressy” things…those are the things that I like to invest really nice fabric and spend time making. I love tailored wovens in dresses, jackets, and coats. I love using interlinings, boning, bound buttonholes. I often find myself “over working” the most casual of items. Nevertheless, I have been forced to adapt to my current situation of having children, a relaxed work environment, and hot Texas weather. I have been on a personal journey to sew more relaxed clothes to fit my lifestyle and the weather. I have even incorporated some fast, easy projects while also staying true to myself. Here a few things that I have made for the first half of the year.
