I will admit that I did not love this dress when I initially made it! The waist is extremely loose and the skirt portion of the dress should have been taken in about 1-2″.
After wearing it, I was glad that I did!
I used Vogue pattern V1339.

Here is my review for this pattern:
Side Ruffle Dress
I will never tell . Hindsight, I would have cut the skirt portion 2 sizes smaller. The bodice fit great.
Did it look like the photo/drawing on the pattern envelope once you were done sewing with it?
No. There might have been some steps that I missed as the instructions were very difficult.
Were the instructions easy to follow?
The ruffle and the lining portion were very difficult. The instructions were not clear.
Light weight cotton jersey knit. I used a jersey (tshirt weight) for the lining.
Pattern alterations or any design changes you made:
I followed the instructions exactly…but waist portion was very baggy! I think that I would add some elastic to cinch the waist a little. In addition, the ruching on the side should also have elastic. I tried make the gathers and they ended up breaking and I thought that I was swimming in the dress.
Would you sew it again? Would you recommend it to others?
This pattern has been retired from my collection. I would not recommend this particular one to anyone.
Overall, this is VERY beautiful dress on the package. Even though the dress did not turn out exactly as planned, the fabric was a little forgiving.
