I think that I have a new crush…this skirt! The skirt was created for the Rippin’ Ain’t Easy Sewing COLOR BLOCKING challenge for Round 3. Please vote for my look Saturday, April 11th starting at 8am-8pm CST. Vote for RUQAYYAH. Please click on the link HERE to vote.
First of all, the black (or really dark navy…still not sure) wool/silk fabric was purchased recently on my trip to NY. I purchased the fabric at Metro Textiles. There were some really great treasures there at about half the price as other retailers. (I will be sharing more of my fabric finds soon). I added the citron silk shantung and teal poly shantung color bands to the wool/silk as a part of the color blocking challenge.
The top was a last minute decision. I made the top using Simplicity 1613. My original top option was completely different. I needed to just keep things simple up top to focus on the skirt. And why wouldn’t I make the skirt the focal point? Can I stress how much I am in LOVE with this skirt!?
Well I hope that you love this skirt just as much as I do! I will be using this pattern over and over again.
Please vote for my April 11th HERE from 8am-8pm CST.
