I feel as though it has been a while since my last post! I have been EXTREMELY swamped with kids and life in general! Nevertheless, I am so excited to share this dress that has been on my dress form for some time now!
I made the dress to attend a “Hat and Tea” luncheon honoring one of my girl friend’s from college. We were all told to wear hats and dresses. I could not wait to wear this dress!
Inspiration for my dress was from my FAVORITE store BCBG (dress HERE). My dress does not have the carwash skirt nor sheer as the inspiration…but the length and print…I think that I hit the inspiration on the nail! I made my dress using McCalls M7242 HERE. The poly crepe fabric was purchased from Fabric Mart Fabric. I tried finding it but it seems to be sold out. I would strongly suggest using a blouseweight crepe with this pattern. HERE are some great fabric options. Another option that would great and have similar flow would be HERE…but you will need to add a simple slip to the skirt portion. (Also, I know that this is not a leopard or in the same color pallete…but this fabric HERE is screaming “make me in this dress pattern”!!!:)). I see this one in my near future shopping list.
