Think that you can’t wear sequins in the day…well think again! As I was going through my stash of fabric, I found this unfinished project (the sequined pants) folded in one of my stacks! I pulled these puppies out for a casual day at work. (The December sewing challenge is SEQUINS for the next ThReD and Needles sewing group.) I am really starting to prep for the New Year…as I really want to do some things differently next year. One of those things is finishing unfinished projects (whether large or small). These pants had been folded in my stash for a few years! I am not really sure why they were undone…all that I needed to do was hem them!!! I decided it was timeto finish them up and wear my pants to work.
STYLE TIP: When wearing sequins in the day, you need to keep it casual. Pair your sequins with a casual piece or pieces to keep the traditionally “after five” fabric simple. I went with a simple white button-up and cardigan.
The fabric was purchased from Joanns. SEWING SUGGESTION: If I ever decide to make another pair of sequins pants, I will add a panel in the leg and crotch area. The sequins rubbing together is murder on the fabric.
My next sequins project is on it’s way soon! I am so excited to see the projects from the ladies in the sewing group.
