For the month of December, the ThReD and Needles sewing group focused on SEQUINS fabric. The ladies did a FABULOUS job on their projects! (Click HERE to see our work). In addition, the November project (OUTERWEAR) work is featured. Check it out…For my blazer I used Vogue V8958 HERE. When I first started my jacket, I made in all green sequined fabric. I wanted to breakup the sequins and add a pop. I added the distressed denim (which I also added some distressing) on the collar and added elbow patches. The sequins fabric is from Michael Levine’s HERE.
I kept the styling really simple. I styled it with a simple black DIY pencil skirt, black top, and one of my favorite pairs of shoes. With the denim accents on the blazer, I can style this for a dressy or casual situation.
The next ThReD and Needles sewing project is going to be “using our stash fabric”. No buying any new fabric for the next project! As a part of the “stash fabric” challenge, I decided to give away some of my stash. I will post a new bundle each week for the month of January to be given away. Check out the blog post HERE for details. The giveaway this week ends tonight at 11:59pm. I will announce the winner on Instagram tomorrow January 8th.
