I have to be honest and tell you that this shirt has become a sort of uniform for me! I have worn it to holiday parties (my good girlfriend’s holiday party and a New Year’s eve party) as well as to work and other locations. The fabric is a denim tencel that sews beautifully and is very easy to wear. It amazes me that it has taken so long for me to actually post pictures of me wearing the full look!
TOP: DIY (McCall’s M7472) Similar Fabric HERE | DENIM: EXPRESS | BOOTS: Stuart Weitzman
The shirt was made using McCall’s pattern M7472. Here are the modifications I made:
– Used View E with the longer back panel
-Shortened the sleeve length and added the pleated detail with the belt and buckle
-Changed the pocket flap shape
The fabric is a denim tencel that I purchased from Michael Levine’s Fabric (similar HERE). The fabric has the perfect amount of drape and holds the sleeve pleats beautifully (even after washing it in the machine). The buttons were purchased at Joann’s and the mini belt buckles were a random find in San Francisco at The Fabric Outlet.
What do you think about this shirt ???
