If you have not checked out all of the striped projects from the ThReD and Needles sewing group HERE…please check them out!
Do you remember the episode of the Cosby Show when Theo commissioned Denise to make him a Gordon Gartrell replica woven shirt? For last month’s issue of the Sew Sew Def magazine HERE, I drew inspiration from Theo’s off-kilter woven shirt with the uneven pockets and the different length front panels. This dress might just be one of my favorite makes this season!
I used McCall’s pattern M7472 with modications to make this dress. The blue striped fabric was purchased at The Fabric Outlet in San Francisco. I had other plans for the fabric originally but when I saw the two fabrics sitting next to each other, I could not resist putting them together! The red, white, and blue striped fabric was purchased at Mood fabrics online. The fabric is almost sold out and can be found HERE. Details on the modifications can be found in last month’s issue of Sew Sew Def magazine.
DRESS: DIY McCalls M7472 with modifications | SHOES: Alexander Wang (a few seasons old) | EARRINGS: HM
What do you think did I make Denise’s version of a Gordon Gartrell or something that you might wear? I would love to hear your feedback!
