This week I am keeping things simple for several reasons: 1) I am so excited about my new website that I want it to be the focal point this week (Please check it out HERE…what do you think????) 2) I can’t get enough of McCalls M7163…I am loving this pattern right now (I posted a top using this pattern a few weeks ago HERE) 3) It is hot outside and anything more would be too much for this weather!

YAY! I made it to Round 4 of the Rippin’ Ain’t Easy Sewing competition with the help of your votes. The challenge for this round was any pattern of your choice in GINGHAM fabric. Hey, isn’t this tree forming a “V”? Could it be that the “V” is for VOTE for RUQAYYAH! ha…ha…ha…but seriously…please take a few minutes to vote for me so that I can move to the next round.

The time is finally here for show and tell of our wrap dresses! I am so overjoyed with this opportunity to co-host for the McCall Pattern Company wrap dress sewalong with Meg Carter (McCall’s) and Lucinda Campbell (sew-wrong.com). For six weeks, we have been posting tips on making our versions of a Diane Von Furstenberg wrap dress using Vogue, Butterick, McCall’s, or Kwik Sew patterns. (I used Vogue V8379.)

Ok, so this was not supposed to be my post for this week…but I wanted to share as I think that the overall construction executed well. When I made this tunic, I was not too sure about the loose fit. I am still on the fence…
Who says that you can’t wear floral and eyelet fabric in the middle of November? Why not? Here is what I wore to the grand finale of Fashion Week Houston 5…
This past weekend was QUITE an eventful one. I had activities every day…so there was ZERO time to sew anything. Nevertheless, with the change in weather, I was able to pull out my FAVORITE go-to dress.
Ok…so when my cousin asked me to help her with the Links Organization Bowling-A-Thon fundraiser for her chapter…I gladly accepted the challenge!
Ok… so as I prep Halloween costumes for the kids, I thought that I should reference one of my favorite archives… this cream ruffled shirt dress.
